Oh rain!

I do love love love love this rain!
I think the only time it wasn't raining today was on my walk home from the train station when for just those few minutes the sun decided to come out and rape me and my eyes.

I feel like I haven't posted in ages.. and like I had a crazy 2 weeks of non-stop blog updating that somehow died and became a rarely updated blog.

Anyway.

It's been the craziest weekend this weekend.
Clubhouse final night was lastnight before it moves to Rosies. (clubhouse is an event on Thursday-Sunday at corner bar)
So that was fun, we sent it off in style. So much style infact that it is painfull to walk today.
On another note though.. MY SHOES ARRIVED!! They are so amazingly amazing. I just want to wear them everywhere, even to bed!
I also got 4 pairs of coooooool socks! If you know me, you will already know that I do love my socks. I have this crazy obsessive thing where I can't wear shoes without socks AT ALL unless they are sandals. I also can't take my shoes off when I am in public. Unless I am trying on other shoes.. It's kind of creepy, but hopefully stylish-creepy, but probably more just plain creepy.

I'm so sleeeepy, I feel like I haven't done anything preductive this weekend/the past week. Infact it's been so un-productive I can't even remember what happened.. All I know is I woke up and this was in my wardrobe:

The Raveonettes - Little Animal

Listen to the lyrics of this song.. crickidy-craaaaazyy.
I'm actually obsessed at the moment.

I'm at work

And I have just had about two years worth of sugar and everything is happening really quickly and I feel like I can't stop moving and everything is making my eyes sore because it is so bright and I just had so much adrenalin and I feel like I am litterally going crazy, and I'm not allowed to be on facebook, but I am, I'm such a bad ass, but I feel so sneaky. Like I could be a robber or a crime fighter or a jedi.
Yeah.. I could be a jedi
p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOZZI

Let me share with you my night so far..

I got home from work, I ate dinner, I went to the video store, I watched a video with my family that was really funny, I came upstairs, had a shower, came back into my room.. and the baby gecko was back.
Even after I thought I chased it out of my room.. it managed to get back.
Picture this for some Tuesday night entertainment.. me having just had a shower comes into my bedroom, still wearing a towel, sees a gecko, squeals a little, gets up on a chair, tries to chase it away, gecko falls and runs towards me, squeals a little more, runs outside yelling help me help me, no one comes to help. Grap one of my shoe box lids (it pained me to do this but I was desperate) tries to trap the gecko inside the lid, but the gecko ran into a pile of material in the corner, runs outside again squealing until eventually someone takes notice.
Mum comes in, gets the gecko out. I start to hyperventilate.
May I put it out there that the gecko is a direct decendant to our friend the axolotl.
I'd rather tear our my jugular than be friends with one of these.

I can feel an epic post coming up

Not right now though.. I'm too sleeeeeep-ee.
So I'll just leave you with this thought

Wehehell what a crummy day I've had today!

It all started when I woke up sleepy at 5:45am to go to work. I was late for the train - probebly my own fault because I wondered around the house aimlessy for a bit too long - so I had to run to the station and then Darren (my local trainstation ticket man) wasn't there, so I had to pay adult fair instead of student fair ($3.90 for 2 zones). And then as I was boarding the train, I DROPPED MY PHONE and it went UNDERNEATH THE TRAIN. Seeing as it was a bad start to the morning and I wasn't in a good mood, I then started to get a little flustered and panicy. My phone.. my life.. was underneath a train.

Anyway, I started yelling to the train driver 'don't leave, my phone is under the train' so then he had to get these tong things and try to get it out, but he couldn't reach, so he got back in the train and drove off.

I then had to wait at the station and give the horrible lady who made me pay full fair my details, so I was late for work.. But I couldn't tell anyone I was late for work because my phone was on the tracks.

I couldn't jump on the tracks and get it, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS EASILY IN REACH, because it was 'risking my life'. So anyway, I went to work and had my toast. But then I had nothing to do, so time went really slowly.

When I got on the train home, I had to sit next to this really smelly man, and when I got off, I had to crawl over him to get out because he wouldn't stand up and let me out of the seat.

But then watched Seinfeld and had icecream and went to Chloe's house and had some drinks with everyone before they went out. So now I take that back.. it's not such a crummy day.

What a lovely suprise

Well yesterday, after a long, hard, tiring days work, I came home ready to die and found my day turned around as I saw that I had mail.
My postcard from my friend Damon in Chicago had arrived, a postcard that I thought ceased to exist. I was so happy!
I just thought I would share this because I really had nothing else to post. No news as of yet.
Unless you call this great news..

Happy Birthday Koz!

Last night we had birthday drinks for Kozzy's birthday.
We met at 5:45 - by the time everone got there it was 6:15 - in the city and after much persuasion, Koren chose Jo-Jo's as her birthday resturant of choice for dinner.

We had a delicious meal, much wine, and a great time was had by all.
Lucky for us, however, the night did not stop there.

After having an amazing dinner at Jo-Jo's it was then onto Albert Street for Karaoke.

I don't think we will be asked to go back again. I, of course, was amazing.. but the rest of you REALLY let the team down. In summary, I think we could have been mistaken for a room full of fighting cats, however that did not deture our spirits, we were determined to hit the notes, no matter how much we had to try, or how sore our throats would be today.

Our time was up in the Karaoke room, but we still weren't ready to go home. We hit the empty dance floor and grooved our hearts out to 'I'm blue' by Eiffle 65 as well as many other prize songs.
Eventually after a breif vomit in the sink from one of the team, we suspected the night was over. Everyone said their goodbyes, and went their seperate ways.

Chee dropped me on Brunswick street where I met some of my other friends. I had a bit of a wonder of the world, not knowing quite what was happening before hitting the clubhouse dance floor which is pretty much where I stayed until the early hours of the morning.

When the bar started to empty, and people started to stop dancing, I thought maybe it was time to go home. With only $20 in my wallet, I checked the time and found some more good news : I was just in time for the last train home.

When I got on the train, I was sleepy, I looked like I had been dragged through a sewer, and I couldn't wait to get home, have a shower and brush my teeth. With David Bowie playing on my ipod, I took the long journey home. When I got off the train, the sun was starting to rise in the distance, and I knew it was deffinatly time for bed. However, little did I know that when I got home, there where 1000000 of my brothers friends sleeping on our living room floor that I had to try and step over. This was not my ideal thing to have to do when I get home late at night.

In conclusion, I had a great, great, great night. I saw some friends I haven't seen in ages, and some friends I don't want to see for ages to come. This should pretty much sum things up, I believe those involved know why.

Paddington Antiques

Today has been a great day.
I went antique shopping in Paddington with Chloe.
First we went to Paddington Antique Centre where we managed to get completely lost. I bought a telephone and Chloe bought a hat.
Is this not the coolest thing ever:
It was then down the road to St Vinnies, where I picked up Lennon & McCartney record, as well as the Seekers for the great price of $1 each. Wooohooo!
Then I got home and made a headband: It's got toy babies on it.
A great mix of creepy and cool.

So that was my greatly fun day.

Today

I have just posted two years of my life (in clothes) on ebay.
This is so sad.
It has, however taken me about four hours to do so.
Lets hope people actually buy it.
I would deffinatly take a bullet for these guys
I was watching 'Boys dont cry' film clip with my mum, and I said 'I don't think they look anything like how they sound' and my mum responded with 'yeah, they look so young'
I shook my head and said 'that's not them there, they are children'

The Tale of Stephen Townsend

There was once a man, in 1805, living in the heart of Paris, his name was Stephen. Stephen was mearly a humble baker, however his bread was so delicious that he was rumered to be a God. Many would flock from all around the country just to sample this bread and lay eyes on the baker. Stephen was a kind hearted man, and he found joy in helping others. He would often bake bread for the people living on the streets of Paris, the people that without his delicious bread, would otherwise starve. This is why many loved him.

One day, on Stephen's daily walk to work, he could see smoke circulating the air, coming from the street of his bakery. He sped his walk, only to find that when he arrived at his once beautiful bakery, it had been burned to the ground. Stephen was devistated. He dropped to his knee's on the street. His whole life's pride and joy, his whole life's work, had been turned to ash. He shouted to the Gods 'What have I done to deserve this? I have always am kind to everyone, I help those less fortunate to myself, I never take anything more than my share. Why has this happened?'

Stephan then heard a witch-like cakkle coming from behind him. He whipped his head around only to see Aubert, the owner of the other bakery in Paris. Aubert was always jelous of Stephens sucess. He was not kind and giving like Stephen, and that is why people did not go to his bakery.

Stephen said to Aubert, 'Why did you do this to my bakery?'
Aubert smirked and said, 'don't you see Stephen, now people will come to my bakery, now people will worship me, now I will be loved by all'
Stephen replied, 'people will not go to your bakery Aubert, you are a wicked, evil man and people will not like your bread because it tastes of jelousy and hate.'
'Oh, but they will. Once they hear that went crazy, gave me your delicous recipies, and disapeard from town, never to be seen again. They will have no choice, I will now be the only baker in town.' Aubert said with a cakkle.
'You may have distroyed my bakery, but you cannot make me leave.' Stephen replied.
Aubert smirked a smirk that was so horrible, it hurt to look at and said, 'wrong again Stephen.'

Suddenly, Stephen felt a sharp pain in the back of his head and everything went black.

When he awoke, he could not see and he could not move, his body had been bound. He could feel he was in a cellar, the cold, moist air sent a chill down his spine. He yelled for help, but no one came.

He heard footsteps, and the door then opened. It could have been hours later, he did not know the day or time. He felt two sets of hands on either side of his shoulders and he was lifted and carried outside. He was put in a sack and lifted into a carrage. They traveled down a bumpy road in a direction, he could not tell and for how long, he did not know.

The Horses stopped and he was lifted out. There was some low mumbling which he could not understand. And then he felt a swing and his stomach drop. He plunged for what felt like hours, but was only seconds. As he hit the freezing water, he knew this was it. He would not survive.
The cool water swallowed him into their depths.

He just thought, if i can get to the water surface, maybe I can float until I reach a river bank.

This is what he did. It could have been days later, he wasn't sure, but he awoke to someone standing over him, untying his ropes. He asked them where he was and what day it was. He told them he needed to get back to Paris, to the police, so they gave him a horse and some food and he went on his way..

To Be Continued...

A Shortened Version of the Best Thing Ever

Oh hi, 1960

I was watching this show last night on ABC / SBS, I can't remember which one, anyway, it was called 'The History of Rock'n'Roll'. It was really interesting (there was also a really interesting show after about how orka's a.k.a killer whales gang up on sperm wales a.k.a humpback whales and KILL THEM.. hence the name 'killer whale, because they are actually a type of dolphin.. Anyway, here is something I thought I would share.
House of the Rising Sun.. A song most commonly known by either Bob Dylan (1961) or The Animals (1964), was originally a broardside ballad that originated from around the 18th Century (although some people say it was an English Folk song from the 16th Century.

Here is a short list of people who have recorded this song:

Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster - 1933
Roy Acuff - 1938
Woody Guthrie - 1941
Josh White - 1947 (released 1950)
Lead Belly - 1949
Glenn Yarbrough - 1957
Frankie Laine 1959
Joan Baez - 1960
Bob Dylan - 1961
Nina Simone - 1962
The Animals - 1964
Los Speakers - 1965
Frijid Pink - 1970
And I also think that the Stones did a version somewhere along the line.. I could be very wrong though.

PLUS on top of all those people, buskers and unknown artists are still performing it worldwide. I think it must be one of the most well known, and most recorded song EVER.

Oh Hey There, 2010

A belated Happy New Years!
As I told everyone in my last post, I caught the train up to Coolum to see Chloe. It was very fun, we may have embarrassed ourselves a little around her family later in the evening, but I think they will forgive us.

Anyway, this is what happened, and how come I've been away for a few a week, instead of just the night;

Convosation at 3:00pm
Me: What are you doing for New Years?
Chloe: I'm going down to Sydney.
M: Cool!
C: Come with me!!
M: Oh I wish I could but I really don't have any money, I just got paid today and it has to last me 2 weeks.
C: :(

Convosation at 10:00pm
C: Come to Sydney, it will be so much fun!!!!
M: No, I can't I can't, I'm just a poor girl with no money.
C: Coooooommmeee ooooonnn! We'll have the best time!
M: Fuck it, okay, fine!
C: Wooohooo!!
(Both do a happy dance with yelling and screaming and excitement involved)

So then we drunkenly booked my tickets, and the next day, off to Sydney it was.

We arrived at 6:00pm (daylight savings time) and caught the train to Milsons Point, and walked to our friends appartment in Kirrabilli for New Years. This was amazing.. Kirrabilli was RIGHT on the harbour, we got full frontal view of the fireworks at the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was AMAZING.
The next day, Friday, we just hung around the appartment for a little while, and then Chloe and I went and got a cone of the worlds most delicious icecream down at Circular Quay (where the Opera House is). On the way to this location, we had to cross the Harbour Bridge. This was a highlight of the trip, not only because we were crossing such an Australian landmark, but because it was really windy, and Chloe turned around really quickly with her mouth open and got a whole mouthful of really long hair from an Asian tourist also on the bridge.
It was soooooooooooooooooooo funny!
I guess you had to be there though.
Anyway, after the icecream, and the hair, we caught a bus to Surrey Hills where we stayed at another friends place for the remainder of the trip.
We didn't really do anything for the rest of the day / night, because we were both pretty exhausted.
Anyway, we woke up Saturday morning, Chloe was refreshed, me however having the worst sleep ever thanks to a mosquito, was a little worst for wear.
We took a look around Oxford Street and went into the city, we both had no money at all so then we went and got the key off Sarah (our new roomy) and went back to the appartment and watched Season 2 of Skins which finished just in time for us to get ready, and go out for a Saturday night in Sydney.
We went to Oxford Arts which was very fun. We met 2 totalli kewt guyzz. When we left there, we went to Gasslight (on Crown street) and then as we were walking home, it was really really rainy, so we took shelter under this ledge things, which is what a few other people also chose to do. After a few minutes we were on first name bases with them, so we let them take us to a bar in paddington and buy us a drink before going home to bed in the early hours of the morning.
Sunday, we thought we would treat ourselves and we went to Max Brenner's. We had a chocolate fondu and a frappe things which was amazing. Well worth the bus ride there.

After that, I actually can't remember what we did. It was really cold so I think we had a look around the shops before getting the key of Ahmed (another roomy) and going home to watch Arrested Developement.

On Sunday evening, Chloe bumped into one of our friends from Brisbane on the street, so we then went to their appartment for a few / a few too many drinks.

This was fun, we ended the night spooning and watching 500 days of Summer, before heading home.
Monday, we thought we would do some sight seeing things so we got on the bus to Circular Quay where we got another amazing icecream and walked up to the Sydney Opera House. It was here, Chloe got a message (I won't post what it said) where we laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed, and people were staring, but we continued laughing.
We decided to get lunch (fish and chips) and sit by the Harbour and eat. After we were finished, we were just sitting back, relaxing, when a crazy homeless woman came up to us and asked us for a cigarette, we said we didn't have anymore, we'd just run out, but here, take the rest of our food that we won't eat, anyway, she was persistant, she wasn't leaving untill she got that cigarette, so we were persistant, and kept telling her we didn't have any. After a few minutes of this, she put her aids infested hand on Chloe's shoulder, and asked if she could have a draw of the one Chloe had in her hand.. Chloe said no.. However like I said, this lady was persistant, so she reached down and grabbed the cigarette, took a draw and as she went to give it back to Chloe, Chloe then said 'It's okay, you can have that.'
GOD, IT WAS SO FUNNY
Anyway, not much really happened after that, we just went back to the appartment, said our goodbyes and went off the the airport to make our long journey home.
All in all, great decision to go!

I had the best time, and although I have $10 to my name now, I had the greatest New Years, and the greatest other 4 days.
If I had stayed at home, sure I would still have money, but I would have just stayed home with channel GO every day instead of getting out and seeing the world.
Thanks Sarah, Eleen, Randy and Ahmed for having us in your home. It was so nice getting to know ya'll.
The only bad thing is, I come home to an ant infestation in my bedroom..
They are EVERYWHERE. But hey, I will save that for another post.

Happy 2010!
